Percy and Annabeth were sitting on the couch at Percy's apartment, when Paul came running in the kitchen with Sally in his arms. Percy ran into the kitchen only to find his mom unconscious and covered in blood. Percy was screaming at Paul asking what happened but Paul was trying to get ahold of the hospital and couldn’t hear Percy thanks to his shock. Percy asked what happened over and over again, but couldn’t seem to get Paul's attention. Percy was mad at Paul for letting this happen to his mother and tried to lunge for Paul, but Annabeth caught him before he could reach Paul. When Paul finally got ahold of the hospital, he asked for an ambulance right away. Percy couldn’t believe his mom was in this state. Percy was in tears. He had been through so much and now this. He turned to Annabeth and cried into her. She tried to sooth him but knew how much this hurt him. Sally was like a mother to her too. Annabeth told Percy, Sally was a fighter and she could fight through this. The ambulance arrived and took Sally to the hospital. Percy never left her hospital room. Annabeth brought him food and clothes. Annabeth begged Percy to go to school one day with her. She did this because Poseidon came to see her and told her that Sally was going to die that day. Poseidon knew how Percy was going to react and he didn't want Percy near the doctors when he found out. Poseidon saw Percy killing the doctors for not saving his mother and Poseidon didn’t want that to happen. Poseidon told Annabeth everything and Annabeth agreed to keep Percy away. While they were at school, Annabeth never left Percy's side. In class Percy asked the teacher if he could be excused. Annabeth had told all of Percy's teachers what was going on so the teacher let him leave. Annabeth asked if she could go with him and the teacher agreed. Annabeth and Percy left the room and saw Hades waiting for them. Hades looked scared. Percy asked what was going on as Hades and Annabeth shared a scared look. Hades look nervously to Percy and told him Sally died. Percy shook his head and screamed. All of a sudden, the water pipes burst. But is wasn’t just in the school, all the water pipes in the city burst. Annabeth looked at Percy and saw his eyes glowing. They were glowing bright blue. Annabeth was scared. Hades looked terrified. Percy stopped screaming and looked at Annabeth. Percy had tears running down his face. Annabeth ran to him and hugged him. Percy broke down. Suddenly, Percy heard a familiar voice behind him. He turned to find his father. Poseidon took Percy into his arms and told him everything was going to be okay. But Poseidon could tell Percy was stronger than ever and was never going to be the same again.
